07/07/07 Bluecycle Scoops Awards for Innovation |

Bluecycle, the UK's largest Internet auction site for motor salvage, has scooped two accolades at the Connect Awards 2007. Recognised for bucking industry trends by using innovative marketing techniques to reach motor traders, Bluecycle was awarded 'most intelligent use of data in a business to business campaign' and the overall award for 'most innovative use of data in a campaign/project.' Judged by an independent panel of industry experts, Bluecycle had to demonstrate its use of innovation in the way it sources, analyses and uses data to ensure maximum return and growing sales. Following extensive research to achieve a true customer profile and make sure customers were being targeted appropriately, Bluecycle took a multi-channel approach including the use of cutting edge mobile phone technology. As a result, Mobizine was developed which creates small bite-sized files and doesn't incur expensive data transfer charges, profiling the latest vehicles daily and delivered direct to a customer's mobile phone. Vibha Sridhar, market making manager, Bluecycle, who attended the awards ceremony at London's Dorchester Hotel, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for Bluecycle and recognises our commitment to innovation in order to reach customers. And with a marketing spend of just £6,000, we are delighted to have generated an additional revenue of £3.8m." |
