04/01/07 Bluecycle Wins Contract With BGL Group

Bluecycle, one of the UK's largest online marketplace for car salvage, has won a contract to deal with the salvage from ACM ULR, the claims arm of one of the UK's largest personal lines brokers, the BGL Group.

From 17th December, Bluecycle will provide the final phase in the claims management process for ACM ULR, by selling all total loss vehicles when the driver is not at fault. During the first calendar year 10,000 units are expected to be uploaded for auction.

Bluecycle will provide a fully managed salvage solution, including auctioning vehicles online that have been written-off or deemed uneconomical to repair. The first auctions are expected to be complete by mid-January.

ACM ULR supports customers with all BGL Group insurance policies, including own brands Budget and ibuyeco, and partners such as Post Office®, M&S Money and Auto Trader.

Rex Oakman, Bluecycle's national sales manager, said: "We are extremely pleased to be working with the BGL Group, its partners and its customers, and this deal reinforces our strong position in the salvage marketplace.

"We are keen to raise awareness that we are open for business to anyone who has salvage vehicles to dispose of, whether they are insurers, self-insured fleets, car rental companies or accident management companies."

Bob Perry, Managing Director of ACM ULR, said: "Our objective is to provide a high quality end-to-end service for customers making claims. All our partnerships with suppliers are designed to take the stress out of the process by being as efficient as possible. Bluecycle leads the way in using the internet to simplify motor salvage, and will help us achieve our aims to provide the best possible experience to please both the customer and our partners."
